About us

We are a family of four, two of which are our wonderful sons, Gianfranco and Alessandro.

We are lucky enough to live on the beautiful Island of Elba, with it’s magical sunsets and warm colours. What better place to bring up our two boys.

One day as I was watching our younger son sailing, I remembered the time when our roads crossed.

I am a yachtsman, born in Germany, but with the feeling of incompleteness and with the sensation that something was missing in my life. I left my hometown to find the sea.The Island of Elba.

In 1990 I bought a catamaran called Wahoo and together with my dog Pepsi, we left Elba to sail to Venezuela (The Island of Margherita). It was here that I met my wife, Karen,and my whole life changed.

Together with this wonderful woman, who has given me two sons. We decided, in 2016, to produce our own lines of handbags. With the love of the sea and our passion to create. Sail Cult was born.

My wife, Karen, dedicates time and energy playing with colours and nature and the imagination of a Venezuelan, to create original and beautiful handbags, with my support of an experienced yachtsman.

We love working with recycled strong sails, and with the expert hands of a yachtsman, these sails can live a new life.
